Deadened my doors

Took about 2.5-3 hours for the front doors and about another 2 hours for the rear doors. I don't even have my rear speakers running, but what the heck, while I'm doing it might as well do everything. Doors are a lot harder than doing a trunk cause you gotta cut the deadener into lots of pieces rather than a large piece. Went for a listen and I could notice more life in the midrange and midbass. No MDF baffle/clay yet, I'm still waiting for my new speakers to do that. But, results are noticeable, just thought I'd share.

Very nice.

Deadening's about the most mundane thing in mobile audio...but it's amazing that a roll of that stuff can make such a difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I loath sound deadening.

Too bad it's such an essential component to any good stereo....because I absolutely hate doing it. It makes having *** with a meat grinder sound fun......

I know what you mean. i did one of my doors about 3 weeks ago and still havent done the other.

Yeah seriously.. deadening is so crucial. Took me a while to actually get started but the process wasn't too bad. What I did was pretty much just the inside panel. Probably gonna add another layer once I do my speakers. I was researching on how to remove that panel so I can do the outer panel and they said something about removing the window glass in the process? That's not really something I wanna mess with.. haha.

When I did my doors I did one layer on that inside metal layer, as it looks like you did in your picture. I also did one layer on the inside of the outter metal of the car (if that makes sense). For me it was just as easy to do with the window rolled up as if the glass was out. I just cut pieces around 12"x12", folded them, slid them inside the door and hoped they stuck where I wanted them. I also did a layer on the inside of the plastic door panels. I think it all worked pretty well, though I did it at the same time as I did the rest of my stereo, so I dont have a before and after comparison.
