Bah, I can't think of the sister company to Digital Designs....I think its Audio something...or something audio....they have an 8" sub thats almost like the one that DD makes. If you know the name of the subwoofer company, post up for this forgetful guy with a bad case of C.R.S. (Can't Remember Shiznit). Thanks fellas.

Whew, thank you very much guys...I don't whats with me today.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I'm trying to find an 8" sub or two that I can throw in a custom center console for my Nissan truck, I haven't built the center console yet, I'm waiting to find which sub I'll be going with, but it will have to be a sealed enclosure for sure. Any thoughts on this? I want something I can really pound and still have SQL. I've changed ideas so many times in the last few months, but I am finally getting started on putting the system together. The centere console will be MDF and FG, then painted...sad part is, I only have room between the seats for 1-2 8" subs. I wish I could play with some 10" subs in the console.

Has anyone here used the TC1000 8" sub in a sealed enclosure? If so, please give feed back asap. I'm tempted to jump on a pair just to try them out, but due to budget, I don't want to spend $$ on "researching" a sub myself, I'd like some feed back on these. These are hella expensive though, so not too sure if I want to fork out the dough for these just yet. Plus, TCSounds is coming out with a shallow 10" and 12" sub pretty soon. ****, decisions-decisions....what do you guys think, would you jump on the TC1000 8" subs, or wait for the 10" or 12" shallow subs for a Nissan truck?

I found this on TCSounds forum, what do you guys think about this shallow SMT sub? Here's the link and quote from the page:

http://www.tcsounds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10&hl=shallow

This one is not on the site yet, but should be before not toooo long.

Its a 10" in wall sub that is only 3" deep! We use a huge neo slug outside the coil and copper vc for high BL product. Ideal for very tiny boxes or... walls! This one will install into a standard wall in any just about house. Its also idea for small cars that can’t fit huge drivers. You can potentially make a subwoofer box that can fit right under your seat.

12" version may come later but it will be 3.8" deep so it won’t work in walls, but can still work in many slim areas where space is a premium.

Prices:

$309 for the 12 TC-SMT NEO DVC-Al

$275 for the 10 TC-SMT NEO DVC-Al

$285 for the 12 TC-SMT NEO SVC-Cu

$248 for the 10 TC-SMT NEO SVC-Cu

the Cu's (copper vc) will be geared for small in-wall applications or very tiny boxes.

The Al's (aluminum vc)will have a much low impedance and can be used in a larger (small) box

These prices are higher than most all shallow mount subwoofers, but these drivers use more neo and have more excursion so they should be able to embarrass the competition. Originally we used a 70 dollar piece of neo inside each one, but that was far too costly, and I don't think people would have wanted to pay for what it would cost for us to prophet, so we optimized the magnet shape to reduce the price without much compromise to the power of the motor. Neo is not cheap and that’s why it’s used to rarely. Also not many companies have the magnetizers to even magnetize neo, but we do.

These puppies should be out pretty soon.

Yeah, I'm really thinking about these...besides, these should be getting released really soon! I just want something different for my truck. Elemental Designs is supposed to be coming out with a 3" mounting depth "Slim 10" subwoofer in the $100 range, but I don't know if I should consider that one after seeing the TC-SMT's soon to be released.

Does anybody else have any input on the subs mentioned in this thread? I'd like as much feed back as possible.
