DD1508 and Hifonics 2610

So my friend has this 2600 watt brutus (probably overrated, right?) and he wants to get as loud as he can in his 2001 f150 supercrew. He's looking to go behind the seat but doesn't like the idea of DD1508 because they don't put out enough watts.. 500 watts RMS i believe... so if he put three back there, would he risk blowing any of them with 2600 watts? i may be completely off when i say the 1508s RMS at 500 but i think that's right...

also, i think even three 8s behind the seats in his f150 might be too much because there just isnt enough airspace..

does anyone have a remedy? or, does anyone know how to push 2600 watts to about 5 and 5/8 mounting depth.. =//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

maybe another thing to consider is that he wants all this done quick, he wants subs in his house in like 2 weeks... can DD get 2 or 3 subs out by then?

thanks for the help.

there are plenty of woofers that can fit the bill. perhaps even a 10 or 12. how much space does he have? i'm guessing at least 1.5-2ft3?

p.s. i have seen 1508's runnig off 1krms each and taking it like a champ. Also, that brutus does rated power.

Was that a daily setup?

I am running ONE DD1508 off of 900 watts RMS.

I am so lazy, I just took a 1 cubic foot 10" enclosure tuned to 35 Hz, built a baffle, and adapted it for the 8:

The Brutus 2610 is a decent amp. I dont think it's overrated.
Not sure hom much room he has in the back, but why not 4 or 5 DD 1508's?
actually the 10 series is a tad under rated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

havent had 1 yet not do rated at 14 volts

mm...gunz how like that setup?
Except for the junkyard look, no one ever believes I am running a single 8 until I show them. IMHO, 1 cubic foot tuned to 35 Hz is golden for that 97 Civic coupe. One of these days, I am going to build an enclosure and run a pair of 1508s, but I am thinking it will sound anemic on my older, 2 ohm stable, Power 1000 bd.

[begin boring story]There was an installer here in town who never heard or saw my car and said his 8w7 and JL 500/1 would take my 1508 and my Punch 150 on his shop's meter. I figured what the hell... So I showed up, he comes out, looks at my setup, and says "You didn't say you were running a 25 to Life Punch 150, the challenge is off!" Honestly, I was expecting the 8w7 to sound better, and I really didn't care if he was louder than me. I was kind of bummed that he pussed out without even trying. Till this day, I have yet to hear a ported 8w7 in a trunk car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif[End Boring Story]

Sadly, I've never had it on a meter before. I just wanted something small and loud. This fit the bill!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I stood there scratching my head for a second and said "Later." What is the point in talking shіt if you aren't going to back it up? Maybe he didn't want his *** handed to him by a "cheaper" setup. IIRC I paid $150 for the 25 to Life Punch 150 used and $130 for the 1508 used.

I know they do rated at 14v, never really wandered beyond the rating to see if they were underrated tho.
