my 9512f laughs at my ZX2500.1 but you should check out the lower DD line-up like the 3500s, 2500s or even the 1500s

maybe try an idmax, or a fi-q which i have never heard personally, but everyone says they have great sq, with good output. the idmax however sounds great, and get pretty loud. there are many choices though besides those as well, budget has everything to do with it, and i dont know the cost of either of the subs you mentioned, so i dont know your budget.
People will argue that the 95 series has good SQ, but cmparing the 9510 to a tc9 is a bad comparison. You said 75%sq and 25% spl, that sounds like a tc9 to me when a 9510 is more like 75%spl and 25%sq. Going off what you said you want get the tc9 or search an try a better comparison.

I would think a 4hp driver would be comparable to the 9500 series, but TC Sounds are generally geared towards SQ rather than SPL. So if you're looking into SQ then i'd choose a TC Sound driver over a DD.
i like my tc 1000s...very clean, very loud
if your not serious about SPL the 9500 shouldnt even be a option
