DD M1 amp and the Rep of them?

i have a DD M1 amp i am sellin but its not cheap.... but i wanna know what u guys think .... some bench test i have looked up show it produceing 2000rms with 14.4v goin to steady..? its the newer one too thats black and silver. its a heavy little beast. i had it on my diamond CM3 15 with dual 2's and it was crazy.... the birthsheet says 741 @ 4ohms with 13v ...... but yeah just lookin for opinions.

Completely ignore the soundpressure m1 tests. Theres no way they are accurate.

Good, solid amps.

Will do about 800w at 1 ohm at 14v
why do u say ignore them???? i have gotten intouch with dd and he knew of the bench test and says they are dead on but close enough..... sooo do u have other reason sayin different??? im not tring to be a a$$ but at the same time my birthsheet says 741 and thats at 4 ohms

Yes.

Wait you have the black and silver one correct?

Do you mind if you open it up and take a pic?

I have had 2 of them, and of course DD will say those tests are accurate, why would you ever say anything bad about your company?

Soundpressure tests are known to be high.

Are you sure thats not 741w at 1 ohm?

yeah its the black and silver 1 i have a guts pic of it already... and the birth sheet says thats at 4ohms its 741....... but from what i heard the sound pressure test close. but thats the older one supposely the new has better cap on it and stuff and puts about 200 more out at each ohm....

The key to the rating of that amp is the percentage of distortion. They were originally rated at a very low distortion ratio of .5% at 13.8V. That is in the owners manual with the birth sheet. That was the CEA standard at the time. CEA 2006 has since bumped the "tolerable" distortion up to 1% which would give tons of amps better power ratings and they bumped the voltage up to 14.4V which again would improve their power ratings. If you put the original M1 on an Audio Precision 1, I bet you'd see that it easily does 1200w without an inordinant amount of distortion. Compare the board to that of the standard 1000 and 1200d amps we all use. Simple way to test it, put it against your Crossfire 1000d or your Memphis 1000d or your dB Drive 1200d. I did and it puts out every bit of what the others do any day of the week.

i had it againist a memphis 1000d and well the memphis started to get warm long before the dd did me and a guy swaped subs for a while. i guess a ? i have is what is it classed as in comps .... because it all over the box its a 600 watt amp sooo i dunno ....
