DD 9515 vs RE 15 XXX

Which one would have better sq (yes i know sq is subjective) while still having the ability to get loud asuming both were adequatly powered? Either way it would probably be ported tuned somewhere between 28 and 32hz. The sub would be in a trunk. Also is the 9515 worth the extra money? Finally which one would you get?

The XXX is an SQ driver IMO.

They both get loud...SQ wise XXX is where it is

I would get the 9515 because they are known to handle ungodly amounts of power and I have its little brother right now and absolutley love it. MY 3515 is running at 1700w rms, so Im sure the 9515 can handle at least 2200w rms.

Handling power doesn't do you much good if you can't very effectively convert that power into output.

In that respect, and in terms of distortion and musical accuracy, as well as maximum linear output, the XXX eats the 9500 alive...

Get the XXX, it's a flat out superior driver for musical applications.

my friend has 2 9515's and they have nice sq and dont distort at high levels. they are in a 16cuft enclosure with a cadence zrs-10 per sub.

Wouldn't a 16 cube box be like an IB setup ? ****, I can't image how you can fit 16 cubes in anything but a hugeass van.

its not that hard. i was running 12 cubic net in the back of a trailblazer. the enclosure was comp legal too. (under window line / 25", stock cargo area... etc). I could glassed out the sides and front to pick up another ~2 cubes.

I'd choose the XX, if you want a driver that can sound good daily, yet get loud when the power is given, the XXX would be my choice.

**** 16 cubes is alot i can barely fit 4 cubes ( i could fit alot more but getting it into the trunk would be hard)

u see the car is classed as a ss1-2 but its his daily driver and it is tuned to play music, so the sq is good at high music levels. i cannot comment on the xxx's sq because there aren't that many down here.

p.s.- just asked him today and its 14cuft sorry.
