Either would be a 15." The setup is going into a Dakota ext. cab. Ive got my electrical upgrades (200 amp alternator, extra battery, and big 3 done with double runs of 0 ga.) and sound deadening is completed. Ill be powering either driver with a AQ 2200 (Gain will be set accordingly). I listen mostly to 90% reggae music, 5% rap, and another 5% with a mix of others. Am wanting a setup that is very musical, and can get loud when needed. But dont get me wrong, am not looking for an all out SQ setup, but i do like to sound good. The enclosure will be constructed around whatever driver is selected, hopefully by this weekend. Both are in the $500 range give or take a few bucks so that part of the equation is done. Am really leaning more to low-end bass because of the bass guitar that I love and is used heavily in reggae music. I would really like to make a purchase by the end of the week or any information would be great.

Thanks

My DP's sound great imo, and get loud. Or they did until I gutted my car lol. I've heard some DD subs, they got loud, but I didn't really like the sound. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the setup, and my personal opinion though.....The DP would be more comparable to the 9500 though.

A lot of it is going to come down to installation.....But still, IA ftw lol.

So if the DP and the 9500 are more similar drivers, which route should I take then. Will the DP still outperform the 9500 in both their optimun enclosures.

the 3500 is NO slouch... its fairly easy to get mod 140s out a single 15 with 2500.. the 3500s sound fraily nice as well.. overdamped but still not terrible.. the DP is simply a higher power handling and stronger motor woofer.. thats being said i honestly don't think you could have 2 better choices.. while the DP might be slightly louder for burps your going to see very little output difference in the 2 with a clean 2k.. the 3500 lover 4+ cubes tuned anywhere from 32 to 40.. the DP likes around 4 to 4.25 and can get low for a SPL oriented woofer.. the difference in hte sound of the 2 will be slight but the 3500 will be punchier and love 40+ where as the DP is abit more laid back and can really dig down deep.. Nike @ IA doesn't get much love here and he makes great woofers.. Id say the DP will last abit longer simply because power compression is lower...

just throwin my 2 cents in this bc i had a buddy point this out to me...

but as far as musically with my setup... i would gladly put my 3515s up against any sub... including the lms ultra I had...

I can tell you that I have an almost completely flat response, givie or take .4 tenths on the TL, from 20 to 60 Hz in my setup and they are taking from 2kwrms to 2.5kwrms depending. and I just beat the hell out of them... but they hold up just fine.
