I just picked up a DD 2515b with the supercharged option and I'm beginning to design a box for it. What size boxes and tuning have you guys used for these? I'd like to retain as much low end capability as possible while being able to throw up a good spl score. Is it worth it to build the "DD box" ? The suspension is super stiff, it was just reconed by DD according to the guy I got it from and has less than 20 hours of play time. Power will be 1400rms before rise until I can upgrade to an MBQ 2k. I don't know much about these subs, but I know the price was too good to pass up.

Meh not a fan of slots, I have 6inch and 10inch pvc I could use or I might try some 8in sonotube. What about tuning?

i had a 2512 that i built a few boxes for, not sure your going to get low and do good on the meter with the same box. try a removable 8" sonotube with 2 diffrent lengths.

if you have meter you can play around with different port lengths seeing how sonotubes are so cheap.

Yep I do have a meter and I will prob use changable ports, I'm just looking for advice on volume and tuning.

Well ive played with a 2515 and i would suggest a 4.25 cube box tuned to 35Hz, but we probably dont listen to the same music so start at 30Hz with a 8" sonotube and tune up in 1Hz intervals with your meter till it sound and looks the best.

As for burps start at 42Hz .

I think 1400 rather clean watts are plenty for the 2.5" coil.

Was talking to a guy from dd for awhile and he said the SC option really made the sub perfom better on less power

Its 1400 before rise, if I can keep rise to around 2x nominal it will be getting about what its rated for. I like a strong low end as I frequently play songs that are slowed to give bass lines from 25-35hz. I'm kind of worried about playing that low because the fs is higher then what I'm used to (most subs I used have an fs in the 20s) I usually build my boxes on the larger side to try and make them as efficient as possible due to having low power. I was shooting for 4-4.5 tuned in the low 30s for daily. And based off what you're saying I'm on the right track. I'm just not sure if I'm going to do a trunk wall or just a standard box with sub up port to the side. Its going in a Ford Contour (trunk car)
