Are you sure those are 1500 series motors? They look like the 1000 series to me, My 1500 series motors do not have a extended back plate. How old are these?

yes they are 1500 series they did have some with the bottom plate like these

Those are definitely 1500's. The 1000's are single stacks. Maybe these are a different version of yours

It wouldn't hurt to run them together unless you just don't like mismatched motors

I will make a call to KADS and find out for sure, I will keep this in mind, I wouldnt need the baskets just the motors since DD puts on new baskets for recones anyway and I might make them 12".
