does anyone know what box design to go with for this sub?

i know DD has a box plan on their site for this box but 1^3 ft for a single 8 seemed a little big to me.

but if anyone has tried that design let me know how it did or if anyone else has a better design could you plz help me out?

What background in acoustics do you have to make a decision about volume recommendations or requirements being too much or too little? Nobody could assist you without knowing what year, make and model of vehicle you have (so they can look up the white papers for multi-axial dimensions), what bandwidth and sound characteristics you request and how much power you'll have on tap for the subwoofer. Also important is where you require this performance to be realized (at the dash, in the kick panel, at the headrest etc). Maximum external dimensions for your proposed enclosure also are the key to what's possible.
