The DC amps are noticeably cheaper than Sundown. For example, the DC PAI-2000.1 costs substantially less than the Sundown SAZ-2000d. I'm not going to quote exact prices, though. If you're interested, the prices aren't difficult to find.
I want it to be known that I'm not a Sundown hater, and by no means am I trying to start an argument here. If you prefer Sundown, that's cool. They offer nice products and Jacob has a very good reputation with the vast majority of people in the hobby. I wouldn't hesitate to run Sundown or DC products at any time...

I have the 2K9 DC price list. It seems the more the power goes up the more the difference. Used Sundown 3K's go for about new DC 3K's

If you do, I might have to pick up a SAZ-2000. Can't afford your full price, although it is worth it with the warranty. I just don't rake in enough cash.

Still really pissed I missed the pre-sale on those. I had no idea it was going on. I live in a cave.

Hmmm hoping they do make amps public. When need more good 3K plus amps cheaper that does rated power. Is DC planing a 4K amp? also Jacob, have the 4500s been sent out yet. I've yet to see a build log with them

On the original thread question - Just from experience if you put 1000+ watts on that 18 she will sing. I have 2 DC 18" LVL4 w/5coils both sitting at 1150 watts per and they beat my *** up.

I would go with the Sundown amp if I was looking to buy the only sub amp needed. Something to be said about blowing rated power out of the water. But all the amps listed are nice.
