"According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (1998), the maximum exposure time before hearing damage at 85 dBA is 8 hours. At 110 dBA, the maximum exposure time is one minute and 29 seconds. If you must be exposed to noise, it is recommended that you limit the exposure time and/or wear hearing protection.

The following are decibel levels of common noise sources around us. These are typical levels, however, actual noise levels may vary depending on the particular item. Remember noise levels above 85 dBA will harm hearing over time. Noise levels above 140dBA can cause damage to hearing after just one exposure."

People seem to confuse dBA with dB a lot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
dBA compensates for the average human's various sensitivities to various frequencies. So, while 110 dB @ 50 Hz is nothing, 110 dB @ 1000 Hz can be quite damaging ... However, 110 dBA @ 50 Hz is equally as damaging as 110 dBA @ 1,000 Hz which is equally as damaging as 110 dBA @ 10 Hz which is equally as damaging as 110 dBA @ 10,000 Hz ...
Oh my you sound like my anatomy professor.

i believe 155db is enough to stop a human heart

160+ is unbearable

170 is like the most in our atmosphere

ive sat in 155db, and it did take my breath away, and i did have a headache for two days...dunno how you guys could sit in 160. thats crazyness.

155 could be but in general is not enough force (frequency dependant).

The maximum, theoretically is 194.x dB change.

Which once you're getting close to 200 dB, you're getting enough pressure to liquify air //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Did you ever see the video of CrazydBDave's van? burped it full tilt, 3-4 seconds with a piece of notebook paper sitting on the dash... great vid. The thing shredds itself. He used to do just under 170 TL iirc.

No one is ever goin to hit 200 db EVER! cuz they would die if they sat in a car that loud.
Again... No one sits IN-car for this.
