db #'s

If you go to an SQ comp than how is it rated. DB's or what?
SQ, is kind of confusing to me. They do meter it, but its only a fraction of the total points you end up with. You supposed to take pics of the install, get more points for equalizers, the way it looks, I believe it ultimately comes down to what the judge sittting in the car likes, to biased for me personally.

I like competing because it gives me satisfaction that my install and time I put in payed off. I like the shows, b/c 99% of the people there have interest in the same things and useually people are pretty cool at the shows. I dont think Ive ever been out to beat anyone, and dont have a problem getting beat, its all in good fun.

If the # is low, I dont get disappointed, it only rules out an idea I had to make the car louder, trial and error, trial and error.

WORKING WITH POWER TOOLS IS COOL.....

The knowledge and hard work that it takes to be successful.
i'm talking about as far as numbers, don't play dumb.....

meaning like for 2 subs what would be considered good like in a sedan w/the seats up..... / suv w/2 12's ported, etc.....

It's basically like Drag Racing. It's all about bragging rights. For example, My car runs 13.5's in the quarter, Well mine runs a 13.7 but I have a louder system it hits 149.7 db's on a termlab mic. It's all about bragging rights or feeling like you have accomplished something.

If you are not a competitor, I would say numbers would mean absolutely nothing.

Loud is loud! If I saw you on the street and you told me that your system does a 152.3 on the NTL, I would saw "Good for you". If we were competiting against each other and you did a 152.3, I would be trying my best for a 153.

Can't really say what would be good for any vehicle as far as equipment. I've seen smaller set-ups do better than bigger ones. To me taking less and doing more is just outstanding.

Like in DB Drag a few weeks ago......Someone hit like a 151 here in MD with only one 12" RE MT and a Orion 2500d on the NTL. Don't know what type car, but D@mn! There are some vehicles with alot more that can't break 150 on the NTL.

What I hate, those who don't compete but they go and get metered once.....Then speak of it all the freaking time like it means something. Oh and some shop installer designed and installed it. All they did was got some OJT on how to burp their system. Credit given to the designer/installer! Yes they may own the system but that is about it.

Show me that you can keep those numbers rising then I'll be impressed.
