Yes that is correct. No, nothing else needed, as soon as it arrives I will refund your money. For future reference, the SAE-1200's are the bottom of the barrel sundown amps, while the new v2 SAE-1200D will be much more reliable, still the SAZ line is what I personally would spend my money on. The SAE-1200D=cheap china amp, the SAZ line is top of the line Korean built amps. Just FYI. Though you probably already know this.
So... where does he say it's junk ?

It is cheaper and it is made in China and it is our lowest line amp.

The v.1 SAE-1200D had a higher failure rate than our SAZ line but I don't consider it astronomical by any means, 90% of the failures were from excessive vibrations and the single sided board just couldn't handle it... the v.2 SAE-1200D fixes all known potential problems from the v.1 model -- primarily by changing to a double sided board.

Also... Chris is the best amp repair tech I've ever dealt with. Some people have issues with him but the overwhelming majority of people love the quality of his work... I know I do. Rarely are there repeat problems... with ANY repair tech or company there is a chance for a repair to fail, it happens... but it is very uncommon from dB-R.

I made this thread to prove one thing, you guys are nut riders.
LOL to find all of the DB-R nut riders? and whats it matter that there are nut riders when you have a good service or good products you will have people that like it and will swear by it. no diff than you advertising i like to drink water or you like the color pink you like it so you tell people that you like it and that makes you a nut rider!!

Did I say DB-R nut riders? No,there was a thread where a dude got ripped off by by H and K or something like that, everybody was talking crap to the guy that got ripped off and in the end they found out he was telling the truth. If you guys like paying for something that's suppose to work but doesn't,then good for you,I have had contact with this guy a few times and he is very unprofessional.

Sundownz- If he is calling your amps bottom of the barrel and cheap China amp, what does that imply?

You misread his message.

"bottom of the barrel sundown amps"

From our line they ARE the lowest line amp we make, so they are technically bottom of the barrel for our brand. They still perform pretty well -- but there is a reason the SAZ and SAX lines cost more.

With Chris's help and suggestions we improved them for the v.2 model.

Chris can be a little rough around the edges... but honestly, nobody else does amp repair as consistently well and reliably as Chris. There are nightmare stories everywhere about almost every amp repair place out there (I've been through them myself)... I've never had a snag with Chris and dB-R. There is a good reason he has picked up other OEM contracts.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Chris but he did try to take care of you and refunded you.

It's just my personal opinion of the guy, nothing against Sundown at all,as I have owned 4 of them, and really like them. I was polite with the guy,but he is an a$$,maybe i am too,but i'm the customer.

I wouldn't use any other company and I can vouch for the top quality work and good customer service from dB-R. He may take time getting your amp back to you but at least you know the work is high quality.

Mannn....i hope db-r replies.

I wanna know what the OP did too "put him through hell", cuz clearly hes leaving out a tonnnn of emails he prolly flooded too dB-r, crying about his amp

I purchased the amplifier, and it blew my subwoofer and also a friends subwoofer and head unit. When the amp was installed in my car the charging system(battery ) light would stay on. I at first thought it was my alternator but as soon as I uninstallled the amp,the light went off and has not returned, then I find out it blew a voice coil on my subwoofer. I would like a full refund due to the fact I should not have to pay to ship it back and then return shipping for something that should have worked correctly when I bought it.

dB-r Electronics denied Michael Hayes's request for a $150.00 USD refund.

No problem. Sorry it didn't work out. We have sold at least 25 of these things in the past 3 months and noone else has had such a serious problem with one, so not sure how this happened. We fully test (under load at 1 ohm up to fuse rating in current) every amp before it leaves here.

So,you will refund me for the amp? I have no doubt about your ability to fix amps, but as you said sometimes they are unfixable. I appreciate your professionalism. I am also sorry it didn't work out.

Yes, as soon as we receive the amplifier back here at the shop we will refund you. We cannot issue a refund until the merchandise is returned. That's pretty much the policy anywhere you buy stuff.

Received the amplifier back here, thanks for including the remote by the way... The amplifier only had 1 small problem, with the input board (the board the RCA's, GAIN, etc are all on), and matter of fact it still worked fine, but had lower than normal output. Upon touching up a few solder connections on the input board all is well and amplifier functions exactly as it should, have been testing it for over 30 minutes now at full volume, have dropped it on the desk a few times checking for intermittent problems and have found none. Issuing refund now anyway, as to resolve this matter with this customer.

A Refund was issued.

k so im not understand what route you should have taken. what is it that you do in order to not fry things... what should you not have done is basically what im saying. you saying that if the truck was off it owuldnt have happen?

Uhm, WTF dude. Please word that correctly. But no, if my truck was off, nothing wouldve happened to mine because it wouldntve been powered, i guess thats what your asking. The positive in my amp was in and the negative speaker wire touched the heatsink. I forgot exactly what happened but he explained it to me.

Regardless. Its user error.
