db measuring with the new style termlab

i have access to a new style termlab meter. i have measured my car from the dash already and got 134.1dbs. how do you measure with the new sensor style meter from the kick of the headrest? i mean it has the suction cups so it's obviously easy to do it from the dash(windshield) but how do you measure from the kick or the headrest? which direction do i point it when i measure the db's from the headrest?

also one more thing, can you use the new style with the windows or door open? my buddy hwo has it thinks you can only use it with the car sealed since it's more like a pressure sensor than a microphone.

sorry if these questions seem stupid but i have no idea how to do it and be able to say it's legit.

Just put the meter where you want to measure, it doesnt have to be suctioned in place. And theres still pressure with the doors open. The basis of hearing is pressure on your ear drums.
