Dayton midbass

Could I run rainbow germs in some kick panels passive off a 2ch amp and get an active crossover to run some dayton 7" or 8" subs in the doors off of my current 4ch with the other 2 channels going to my rear fill? I have a factory HU and will be getting an LC8. I do not want an aftermarket HU. I'm not planning on spending too much more money on my front stage, would this be a decent setup?

If you do a 3-way, rear fill is really pointless. I can go along with an argument for a 2-way with rear fill, but not a 3-way. That being said, you'd be better off running that 4 channel bridged to the midbasses.

If you're going to do it, do your best to get the RS225s (8") in there. You are going to have to run them bandpassed, so you'll need some kind of crossover to do that.

Thanks. Rear fill I was just going to run low for my passengers but I don't get too many passengers so I guess I could get rid of that. How would I run them bandpassed?

Audio Control LC8 is an LOC that also does some equalizing to your factory HU for better sq. The dayton's will be ran off a power acoustik A600-4HP, my germs will have a MTX Thunder 502, and the subs will have a MTX Thunder 1501D on em.

you will need an external active crossover.

i am personally using the alpine H701/C701 combo to run my 3-way frontstage.

but there are less expensive options that can get the job done.

i used to use an old coustic xm5e to run my 3-way frontstage.

it is just a 2-way crossover + sub, but the sub channel is stereo (unlike the new xm6 which is mono) and can be ran up to 400hz.

so i crossed over my tweeter and mid normally and used the sub channels in conjunction with the hu x-over to bandpass my mid-basses.

the best part is i bought it on ebay for like $45

but any electronic crossover that can do a 2-way + sub

and the sub channel can be run up to several hundred hz in stereo will do what you need it to do.
