Datsun 280z

Hello Everyone,

I have had my 1977 Datsun 280z for about 10 years. 9 years ago I had a Pioneer DEH-6900UB installed with no amp to the speakers and a Kenwood KAC-91520 powering my sub (with a 1.5 ferried capacitor). Everything with the stereo was working perfectly and about 2 years ago I left the car in my garage. Well a few weeks ago I pulled the car out and got it running again, but now the head unit does not turn on the amp for the sub, or make any sound from the speakers. The head unit does turn on and shows that it is playing a CD though. None of the wires were touched in the two years that it sat and I am sure that no animals got in the car and ate any of the wires or anything else. I also checked all my fuses and could not find any that were blown.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can start trouble shooting this? Unfortunately I don't know too much about stereos (I got my brother to install it for me, but now he lives on the other side of the country).

Thanks for any help you can suggest!

Chris

I'd say it wouldn't hurt to check the wiring. If you can easily pull the head unit out you'd probably get a decent idea if they were chewed through or not. It's a simple enough check. Not sure what else could go bad sitting for a couple years but someone else will surely chime in. Gorgeous car BTW
