I have my 2 Kicker S12L7's in and they are awsome. I make car alarms go off i can get the awning at school shaking. But i have rattleing in my trunk and peaple also tell my with subs it could start to loosen stuff. I belve dampening will prevent the rattleing but i dont know about the loosening. Any ideas on that? Also whats the best kind of dampening and where sould i get it?

thx

^^Ok mom. Easy on the lecture.

But ont he subject. Im pretty sure at least some dampening will help your rattle. Of course you can never really get rid of all the rattles but getting some is always an improvement. And for the loosening, I do believe that it does happen because you will start to notice alot of things start to move and rattle that never really rattled before. This is actually a good thing if you are going to dampen because you dont have to redo the dampening on those certain areas that just BARELY decided to start to rattle. Give dampening a shot. Its easy to do it with the subs playing. Just go around your car and see what rattles. Then mark it or put something on that area so u can dampen it later.

just add a layer of your chosen deadener to the trunk lid, should elimate some of the rattling..the more you add, the less rattle you will have.

dampning. What u saying.
Get a SQ driver and build a birtch ply enclosure.

L7...arrghrgahgh
what are YOU saying? and what does "birtch ply" have to do with anything?

ok lol i dont really care bout the kids in school... i really dont believe anyone will be able to jack my system b/c you cant even get the boxes out of the trunk lmao. (now on topic) So the dampening should help. Should i just dampen my trunk or should i do everything? (ill give you some picts of my system)

Where there's a will, there's a way. OR, not being able to get your stuff out may piss them off and cause them to break stuff.

I had an OLD install in a T-bird, enclosure glassed to the trunk floor and subs were firing into the baskseat facing into the cabin. Well, they couldn't get my stuff out, so they proceeded to hammer my enclosure and car panels to pieces, rip out the rear seat and throw a birck through each sub, again took the hammer to my deck, I'm guessing because I didn't leave the face on, then broke every last one of my windows and slashed three tires.

Don't ever think you're impervious to theft or thieves.
