with a car like that, our shop would go ahead and clear it with customer and insurance company and look for used/salvaged parts. just as good if never before repaired. pretty plentiful too. thats why i said like $300 bucks.the hood alone is 300 new im sure. if not more. as you said....hoods arent cheap. That is probably 600 in parts between bumper, hood, lights, grille, core support, and whatever else isn't shown.
agreed. Get your parts from a junkyard.with a car like that, our shop would go ahead and clear it with customer and insurance company and look for used/salvaged parts. just as good if never before repaired. pretty plentiful too. thats why i said like $300 bucks.
no one really EVER buys new parts for a car older than 96. cheaper for everyone. special exceptions for higher end/rare cars

Not true at all.being totaled means the bill to fix it is more than the car's worth. could be $1,000. could be $20,000. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Not all insurance companies even offer such a thing unless you're carrying comp and collision coverage, sadly...The fact that your car is an extreme high mileage example and only books at $1600 isn't going to help your cause at all. Doesn't matter what you want. You'd have almost been better off from the beginning carrying only liability insurance and using the money that you spent on collision and comprehensive to save up for a "new" car. Carry a rider just for the stereo for theft.
As do many GM cars of the era. They ride nice at times... but kinda like boats others.nope slamed on the brake the front end droped down under the car in front of me bonnivilles tend to nose dive quite hard during braking
let me know what body shop you work at because that is dirt cheapthen how the hell is there so much damage? i work in collision repair..old car, alot of them made, cheap cars..and if everything your saying is true then your insurance company is anal raping the shit out of you by totalling it. shouldnt cost but $300 to repair (in parts alone)
maybe they dont want it on the road anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
