dam fords!!

IMO one of the most foolish things Ford has ever done was discontinue the 4.9L I6 in favor of a v6 engine (4.2, I think?) for fuel economy reasons. Not too many full-size truck/van buyers are overly concerned about economy as they are about towing/hauling/cargo capacity.
Not heaps of top end out of those 300cid sixes but bottom-end torque for daaaaaaaayyysssssssss

The '76 F100 my dad had years ago had one...carbed.....3spd on the column. Was what I learned to drive a manual on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Three on the tree...eek. Big points there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Both my dad's 5spd '91 F-150 (what I learned manual on) and my '94 Econoline have the 4.9; but I've been a little nicer to mine and it's lasted 150k without any major problems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just normal things you'd expect to replace on a 12-year old engine.

hmm do u have a system in that car??? cuz my car has the same symptoms, rpm jumping and so forth.......
yes but if it where just the rpm jumping then i would think its the iac. (idle control valve) but theirs many things that start acting up at the same time. and i rarely play my stereo. its mostly for spl.

i wonder if its possible for a computer to mess up after thousands of burps. since they go up againts the kick sometimes and thats where most cars are the loudest.

yep ive had my truck for 3 years and this is the first time its acting up. it has over 130,000 miles on it.

dam ford strikes again on the way to drop it off at my freinds house so he can drop the transmission. for the same problems as in this topic the check engine light comes on!

well i told him let me take it to ammco maybe its just a sensor or something so i took it dropped it off their gonna check it for free. hopefully its nothing expensive. ill find out today tommorow

i forgot the name of it but you spray for electrical connectors can get it at radio shack. sometimes they get dirty and cause it to act crazy. but i think in my case that it works fine sometimes and sometimes not it probably shorted out cause of it being dirty in the past.
FORD..Faggets only real desire

Definetly a sensor proplem,But when u cleaned the MAS sensor did u go back and put dyeelectrical grease( I guess that is how u spell it)?
