Daisy Chaining ?...

Alright, I was looking at getting an MB Quart RAB-1450 to power six Kickers, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to buy two. These amps are 1ohm stable, so my question is- with two of them daisy chained, are they going to stay 1ohm stable or will daisy chaining bring them up to 2ohm stable? Thanks for any input.

I will probably have more questions later- just a warning //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Basically- I read somewhere that daisy chaining will bring 1ohm stable amps up to 2ohm. Is this true?

Can anybody clarify for me if the diagram below would work? If not- please explain to me why (as I am a n00b). Assuming the diagram works, the amps are rated at 300watts each @ 2-Ohm and 450watts each @ 1-0hm- so, I should be getting 600 watts to all the subs @ 2-Ohms, right?

that's one fed up diagram, is there any strapping going on or are you just talkinga bout daisy chaining the rcas? how would daisy chaining rcas affect the load that the amps see?

that's totally wrong.....if you buy the amps they will come with a manual and it will tell you how to hook it up

and yes...strapping raises the impedence that the amp is stable at, and also in your case strapping wouldn't help you

each amp @1 ohm=the pair strapped @ 2ohms

it will be exactly the same power, but setting the gain will be much easier when they're strapped so that's a plus

Well then- let's say I don't strap them. What if I were to just split the RCA signal coming from the HU at the end to connect to both amps. Would that hurt the signal quality any? Would that help me get the power I want?

each amp @1 ohm=the pair strapped @ 2ohms
Just to clarify this means that the total power for the pair strapped @ 2 ohms is the same as the sum of the two amps each running @ 1 ohm. Kinda awkwardly worded.

Definitely no gain in output in your situation. Also, six 8 ohm subs wired in parallel doesn't give you a 2 ohm load anyway. It's a 1.33 ohm load which the amps may not like.

i thought daisy chaining was the same thing as strapping
Daisy chaining is the term normally reserved for feeding a second amp input signal via the RCA preamp outputs on an amp.

Strapping is the term for connecting two amplifiers which are powering the same sub (or set of subs)

All amps which have a set of RCA preamp outputs are capable of daisy-chaining one to the next.

NOT all amps are capable of being strapped. Matter of fact the amps that have this capability are decidedly in the minority in comparison to the amount of different amps available. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
