dad gots my weed

You aren't paying rent, bills, school expenses, and for 'anything else you want' while working 20 hours a week. I smell bullshit.
OP, people are giving you shit because 1) it makes them feel better about their problems to bash you for yours (or your perceived problems), or 2) they havent even hit 22 yet so they are basing their judgment on what their imagination tells them their life will be like at your age. Ignore them. And just be honest with your dad, the truth will set you free.
Tuition is going on a student loan, but I'm paying for everything else...

nice poast
He wouldn't say how much he makes so I guess it might be possible if he makes $10+ an hour give or take
$17 an hour

**** u makin some good money there sir
what is it that you are doing if you don't mind me asking?
Well, I'm studying to be an Electrical Engineer (3rd year) so I have a job at a very large glass company working with other Electrical Engineers. You could call it an internship but it's technically called a "Co-op". I've been here for about a year now, and management has pretty much told me when I graduate, I'll have a full time job waiting for me (making even better money).

While I realize this is far from the norm, it's still possible to get out there and live on your own. However, I will say this...I do understand you not wanting to basically throw money away with rent...it sucks that that's basically what your doing. With a house payment, that money goes towards something, you have a house to show for it. Rent money is pretty much just thrown away. However I'd still rather throw money away if it means not living with my crazy parents...

Although, I might add, if you don't have enough money to get your own place, do you really think you should be spending it on weed?

Maybe this is just sour grapes, and frankly I hope Im wrong for your sake gumper, but I find it hard to believe a non-graduate intern is making $17 an hour part time.
Frankly, I really don't care if you believe me or not. I have no reason to lie on here (I guess maybe to make my e-peen bigger?).

I wonder how many of the people here who are so ready to throw insults around would be willing to divulge information about their lives. And if they would be honest.
meh, I don't have anything to hide.

$17 an hour isn't shit. That's practically minimum wage in California.
Exactly, I didn't think it was that outrageous. Most of my classmates make at least $15 an hour at their jobs

You've already admitted its not the norm, so you passing judgment on the OP based on your life is hardly fair (assuming its true). And admitting its out of the norm should make it fairly obvious to you people would be skeptical. In today's economy, $17 an hour is a decent wage even for graduates, let alone an undergrad working part time. So the attitude just seems to be a defensive mechanism. *shrug* I didnt question you to make you hot and bothered, simply stating my opinion of what you said. If its true, good for you. If its not, well, only you know if you are trying to prop up your e-peen. I doubt anyone else cares if you are or not, I know I dont.

I'm not "hot and bothered" man, I'm just answering your questions. I know I said my case is not the norm, but I also have a lot of extra money, which is why I can afford a new TV, new audio equipment all the time, etc. It's still possible to live on your own with a lesser wage.

You're trippin bro. $17 an hour might be good shit in some shithole in the mid-west, that ain't gonna pay rent elsewhere.
The average household income in California isn't much more than $17 an hour, let alone individual income. $55k, just over $25 an hour. $17k for an undergrad part-timer is very good money, even in Cali.
