Okay, since I work at a local car audio shop I can get items in brands we carry at lower than normal retail prices. That being said, Im looking into getting some new woofers because I recently sold mine. In front of the counter, staring at me all day, is a brand new 15" kicker CVX on display. I want to hear its raw power, but Im not really sure what its capable of, sound wise. How are they in sealed boxes? Any SQ at all to em? I can get it for about $200 + tax... what do you guys think about that price?

ill sum things up for the test session for you.

It was performed at my house with about 40 different 12" drivers from varying manufacuters. For the money the CVX is very, very hard to beat. In fact it was my favorite driver from the test session. I would definately go with them. Especially since they are a shop brand and you can help promote the product which in turn promotes the shop, which makes kicker sell more drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

as you can see it has a very very flat response curve where it matters most.

Yea well i try to keep the info from the test session close by,

That was sealed right? Also I can expect bigger numbers from a 15 as well. Ill also be feeding it 1k rms. How was the SQ on it? Thats what matters most to me. A slightly muddy driver doesnt kill me, but something balls-out nasty kills me.

think the 12" CVX would sound good in a .9 cu.ft. downfire box under my back seat in my silverado? I used to run some CVR 122s, I liked those...so I'd assume the CVXs would be a tad nicer.
yes, just add about 50% polyfill, should do nicely if you have the depth for a CVX.

No that was ported, but you cannot compare those numbers to any other numbers other than test session numbers, It was metered at the headrest sealed up. Showing that I can make the driver fart loud does nothing, but showing how it responded and how loud it can get in comparison to another driver is what matters.

I posted that graph to show the very flat response of the driver

I dont know if the CVX is right for me. I wish it would have held its ground just a bit higher, not dropping until 65hz. I really just wanna hear one in person using my amp and crossover settings and such before making up my mind... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
