... make me mad. I'm not mentioning any names but it went like this verbatim (copy and paste from my e-mail). Now... I don't think I was out of line with this guy but I'm just checking to see what other people think about this situation.
Preface... customer was asking about some used items I had for sale then begins asking about my products.
Inserted a few comments in italics to explain further.
I do not plan to respond any further to this customer... I don't think there is any way we will see eye to eye on this. Normally this stuff doesn't get to me but the last response from this guy struck a bit of a chord with me.

Hey there do you have any demo 3500 sundown at a good price come on its almost christmas here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-----
ME:
I have some used ones... could do 700 on one.
-----
CUSTOMER:
Jacob
I heard you sell them brand new for $XXX to competition guys!
Jacob help me here !
-----
ME:
Dbr has a good deal on refurbs right now.
-----
CUSTOMER:
Is this a joke what would I want to buy refurbs?????????????????????????
Jacob I know you are not serious..............................
-----
ME:
Competitor price is confidential, if someone told you what they paid they can be kicked off the team -- and it isn't $XXX for a single 3500d team cost so you have heard wrong.
If price is that critical the XX (product model) from XX (company name) is a really good deal. (customer was offered a price on a product from another company and mentioned it in earlier conversation)
Otherwise I have the used 3500s for 700, which I normally sell for 750 (I have quite a few so will start discounting them a bit), or dBr refurbs also have a 1 year warranty and are currently priced lower than I would ever sell a used, new, or competitor priced 3500D.
I'm not trying to be difficult but these are the prices on the products... And the refurbs are very well done with a warranty.
-----
CUSTOMER:
I guess I will go with the XX (product model) from XX (company name)!
Thanks it seems one 3500 sundown will make a difference in your company?????????????
-----
ME:
Okay, good luck with the XX (product name) and your setup!
-----
CUSTOMER:
Thanks for the luck you must be made of out Gold!!!!!!!!!!
Just remember where you came from????????
-----
ME:
Haha, not quite made out of gold - just stick to my guidelines =)
-----
CUSTOMER:
Wowowowow thats insane guidelines LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jacob you are a good,'Piece of Work"
-----
ME:
I'm not trying to insult you here... I have pricing guidelines for dealers, competitors, and consumers... I follow them.
I get 10+ e-mails a day asking me for discounts -- everyone gets the same answer and treated equally -- I tell them the same thing, "this is the price."
No insult to you intended... I simply apply the same pricing to anyone who contacts within their segment (dealer, competitor, or consumer) so everyone is treated fairly. If I gave a different answer to everyone that wouldn't be right... in my opinion.
In any event... I hope your purchase works out well for you ! The XX (product name) is a pretty solid piece from what I hear.
-----
CUSTOMER:
I just purchase a XX (product name) if everything goes fine I will sent XX (company name) customers.
Thanks for nothing basically well hopes everything goes well with your
company you should loosen up stop being greedy life its too short may god
bless you and your family.
