Current events discussion

Rob was whining about all the charges against the rioters - I mean peaceful protesters. Anyway, if you start looking into it, since the rioting occurred in liberal cities, liberal judges often went light on the rioters. And IMHO, (some) of the Jan 6th rioters got of light too. Some of these folks really should have the hammer dropped on them.
I think the instigators need to be jailed and hit with a hammer... I mean have the hammer dropped on them.

Here's an interesting story for those whining about the professor & students (and others) getting their visas revoked for their role in the protests. I guess it applies to other visitors to our great nation, legal or otherwise. So many decades ago a cousin-in-law of mine was in America on a work visa. He got into a drunken bar fight, they revoked his visa and deported his dumb ***. But it's a Constitional Crisis if TrumpCo boots visitors to our country for protesting our country, our institutions and our allies. It's a Constitutional Crisis if we deport gang members that are here illegally. It's a Constitutional Crisis if we boot illegal immigrants who commit crimes while "visiting" our great nation.

You can go back and forth all day with this crap. You people cried foul because Trump had documents but Biden got a pass having documents. The left looted and rioted and caused loss of life and BILLIONS in damage, the left called it the summer of love. The right went to the Capitol to peacefully and patriotically make their VOICES heard. The left called it an insurrection after left wing instigators broke through the doors. It's all in the eye of the beholder but everyone has an excuse why there side gets a pass. Each side thinks they are better than the other but we are all in the same country getting screwed by the same people.
You're off onto some weird irrelevant tangent again.

If you don't want to be arrested for terrorism then here is your first task. DON'T BREAK THE LAW!!
Ahhhh' "DON'T BREAK THE LAW".
So if Trump didn't want to be convicted of 34 felony counts, HE SHOULDN'T HAVE BROKEN THE LAW".
Right?
This country is FAR too soft on crime. That is why there is so much of it.
No shit. And even more of it with Trump pardoning insurrectionists, simply because they voted for him, and releasing gang members from prison, instead of prosecuting them.

Nobody is forcing you to be here. This is the Trump being Trump thread.

Wrong. If he didn't want to be convicted he shouldn't have run as a Republican. That is the only "Law" he broke. You know it, I know it and the rest of the United States now knows it.

How many catch and release of hardened repeat offenders in New York again Rob?

So a drunken bar fight is the same as practicing nonviolent free speech?
Interesting.

Why is everyone cheering Trump for releasing these gang members, instead of prosecuting and punishing them? Did they vote for him, like the insurrectionists?

That huge proponent of free speech, Elon Musk. Huzzah!

Huh? Another crash and burn, kid.
You might want to get someone to help you with your posts.

Oh? You might want to ask a grownup about how the law works in this here United States.
THIRTY FOUR felonies. Falsification if business records in the first degree.
AGAINST THE LAW.
Your conspiracy fantasy is false.

I dunno. How many did Trump pardon from New York?

My statements are factually correct.

Had he run as a Democrat he would have a clean record. Stop trying to debate that.

I am talking about all those repeat offenders that Democrats let loose. Many of which went right back out an committed more violent crimes.

Huh? Crash/burn part deux.

Had he not bragged publicly about breaking the law, he might not have gotten investigated, prosecuted, convicted.
His own stupidity caused it.

OK. Explain the analogy of then to the claim that Trump is "tough on crime" and "reducing crime" by releasing the gang members instead of prosecuting and punishing them.
What lesson did he teach them by setting them free?

No, he ran as a Republican. That was his only "crime".

Where are these gang members going? Tough on crime meaning you don't get to have 3 meals a day paid by taxpayers, or A/C, or prisons that are more like resorts. It means tough as in go back to your own country and be their prisoner.
