It looks like overseas oil is cheaper. Maybe we should quit buying overseas oil and pay more.
It's because most of the crude we produce needs more refining and we don't have the refineries to make it happen

The "newest" refinery in the U.S. was built in '77

A little research goes a long way buddy 🫣

Rob is always trying to convince us how much better the economy is under Biden so I posed these questions to him in the private chat.

Here you go Rob... explain how the economy is SLOWING quicker than expected?
GDP Actual is 1.6% Est. 2.4% and is DOWN from 4.9%

Must just be a fluke huh?

I did research kid. That's why I posted it. We import oil because it's cheaper. All the Republicans crying that we should use our own oil aren't very smart. Dirty oil is one of the reasons the Keystone pipeline got shut down. That oil was scheduled to go overseas. I post facts kid. You can go sideways towards somebody else.

I was being sarcastic when I said use our own oil. Nice try!

We absolutely should use our own oil...we can't because there's no way we can get new refineries built because of stupid legislation...

Dirty oil is one of the reasons the Keystone pipeline got shut down.
Keystone is for moving Canadian oil...it has nothing to do with domestic production here...

So, who is saying that the oil pulled from the United States is heavy or dirty oil and that we don't have the means to refine it?
The process for refining different types of crude is different. Because we haven't built a refinery since '77 the vast majority of our capabilities are geared towards the imported heavier crude that was the primary source back then.

Getting through the dumbassery of the epa prevents new refineries with the capability of refinery the lighter crude the U.S. produces from being built

I'll say it again. Our oil is too dirty. That means we have to buy foreign oil. Anybody that says that we should use our oil is ill informed. The Keystone pipeline oil is/was scheduled to go overseas because it is dirty. The USA is producing oil at record levels these days.

Oil is a global market. We both import and export petroleum depending on what is needed, where it is needed, refining capacity of the markets involved, etc. What I'm more concerned about is that many/most nations with massive oil reserves use that create National Sovereign Wealth Funds. Instead we choose to allow Big Oil to make massive profits; in that sense our oil reserves are treated more like Russia, than many Middle Eastern Countries. It's astonishing how the richest most powerful economy to ever exist refuses to "share the wealth."
