Current events discussion

Anyone who had the internet and was actively using it in the early 2000's can easily see how choked off search results are these days...
Yeah often times what I would have expected to find on page 1-2 is buried 7-8 pages deep behind completely irrelevant findings if not gone entirely. We're witnessing in real time how they're burying the story about the Ukrainian refugee gal that got murdered by a person of undetermined racial background. They're trying really hard to control the narrative by controlling the information and hoping we're stupid enough not to believe what we're witnessing with our own eyes.

The most benign search is at least half a page of advertising links before anything relevant.

When I look for fishing reels it's page 15 at least before I stop seeing the same 10 websites. It's about the same with anything else I'm looking to buy as well.

As far as news...it's a frigging joke to search anymore.

Google almost singlehandedly killed the innerwebs...

No...that's just shitty politicians to cater to lobbyists...
Idk sometimes I think like what if during wartime they need to use ai data centers a lot during a battle and might cut off our power to keep the war data centers online, idk for sure but there's a ton of power cost increases and what not from data centers. Idk if the military's data centers are the same ones as civilian or what, idk how that works.

Kill the private data centers...they not only soak up electricity but they're a huge driver in electric bills going up...

Hell kill the government's too...they don't need to track and store every fckn thing we do if there's an emergency due to war ffs
