Curb Feelers?

Does anybody have any experience with curb feelers? are they worth it or are they just annoying? i just ask because once i slam my car down I don't want to worry about possibly scraping my fenders on curbs and was wondering if anyone knew where i could get some that weren't flashy and or like 18'' long.

all the ones i found online have stupid shit like 8 balls and skulls on the end....

i decided to hold off on buying a winter car until winter and getting my bug where i want it, so my disc brakes and 17'' rims are going on it tomorrow, then i'm getting some wider fenders and running boards, then i'm going start prepping for paint and painting it. i'm not slamming it and putting motor work in it until like sept. but i just want to get an idea of where i'm going. i'm still diligently(sp?) looking for a decent condition 61' cont. though

yeah i saw a bunch like that online, but they just look so long. since my fenders will only be an inch or two off the ground, i want to keep them short so they don't stick out forever and a mile

i think they do too when they're super long, i'm just trying to locate some short ones and see if i can make something work and not have it look teh ghetto. just exploring possibilities here...

yes!@!!!! they'll go perfectly with my neon license plate frame, my neon air caps, and my neon windshield washer nozzles. oh yeah and my underbody kit...

Cut them to whatever length u want.

if they're too short, they won't work.(won't vibrate enough to feel it.)

Why not just get some back-up sensors and mount them in the fender lip?
