you planning on mounting it at sitting or standing eye-level?

i also think the tilting thing is useless if you get the tv on the wall where you want it.

hardest part is finding the studs. so it should be an easy job.

That is the hard thing to figure out.
At sitting, the TV will be about 3.5' off the ground. If I had 8' ceilings, it would be no big deal. But since I have a 16' ceiling, I think I should mount it higher.

How far do you want to sit away from it? I think thats the thing you should really be asking. And you wouldnt probably want to look up at a wall too high or your neck will hurt.

put the bottom of the actual screen at eye level when sittng.
