Last night at the poker table was filled with lol's. A young Mexicano said he was fighting in MMA bout tonight. I asked him what type of martial arts he had studied. After a pause, he said Brazilian jujitsu.

Later he said he hoped the guy did not get him in an arm bar or a choke hold or he would just have to tap out. He didn't like that style of fighting, he would prefer just to go toe to toe and slug it out. So, his expertise is in jujitso but he can't grapple. I suspect an *** beating.

I asked him if he was a better poker player or MMA fighter. When he couldn't answer I told hin he would probably have a better idea in about 24 hours. This is his first fight BTW. No money will be paid.

I would say common sense and critical thinking, back in the old days they figured shit out without any education.

I dunno, I'd lean more toward Education and critical thinking. If you have those two, common sense should already be there. Granted, people were "intelligent" in the dark ages, or even the stone age, otherwise man would never have advanced to the current situation. The thing is, the bar against that intelligence is raised as time goes on. I didn't go. I wanted to, just to watch this guy get his *** beat. I think that in actuality the only martial arts training this guy has received has been in the Army, where you are really only exposed to it. He really seemed like a soft guy who was just stupid enough to think that this was something he wanted to do.
