Not going to be a troop. Be a civilian. I am in it to win it. I just think my government job is giving me experiences I couldn't get elsewhere.
I started out making more than anyone in my graduating class (except for the other person they hired)

I still make more than anyone else in my graduating class. Plus, the govt paid for me and her (she's married, didn't even try) spend a week in DC and visit the White House and the Pentagon.
graduating class in HS?

And don't ever think that service to your country will give you an edge in landing a job. People say they "support the troops" but that usually means little more than they will put a bumper sticker on their car.
it does at bullshit jobs, liek the 8 i have had in the past year. :kekeke:

A lot to be siad for a gov't job, good benefits, retirement, can be decent enough pay. My point is that the private sector frequently gives lip service to supporting those who served but in the end they really don't care or understand what you have done. My highest rank was CPT, I actually had someone ask me in an interview was I close to making SGT when I left. I am not saying being an officer was some huge deal, just pointing out that my military credentials meant shit.

No wonder I dont like you.....

Im just messin with you homie. You said you were in 10 years? what was your time line, you went in as, then promoted at this station etc..

Went into the NG as an E-3 back in about 85. After Basic went into ROTC while in school. Commissioned in 87. Was Active for a little over a year at Ft Eustis. Back on AD for the first Gulf. Then on AD at FT Campbell. The rest was reserve duty until about 95 when I said enough of this shit.

Im a army civillian IT guy....ive signed up for the gig's in Iraq, Afghanistan, and UAE too, mainly because im so bored statside that I cant see straight. I too beleive that there are many things that ive learned from the army already - like being able to fake that you're being productive all day. Other than that, absolutley nothing. My private industry and DoE work was 3.6 million times more interesting, but *sigh* George Bush senior killed the accelerator physics industry in texas in 91 so that killed that particular carrer. He was even nice enough to come to the lab and sign my magnet (thats still sitting in the parking lot wraped up in plastic even to this day). sad shit brotha

Hopefully, they will never shut us down.
BRAC is a big deal here at my base, but its sort of for the opposite reason though. This base is absorbing 3 other bases that are closing, so that means 30,000 more people are comming to the city as permenant residents. That got me thinking that I should cash in on this somehow.... maybe run a small audio shop on the side to cater to all these new retards because the local shops here have such bad reps already.

either that, or do some sort of real estate, maybe rental houses to start my empire with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Ive been seriously thinking about curbing my audio purchases and car hobby habit to invest more. Maybe im getting old //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
