Can you make it not upscale? IIRC, regular cable is 480p...can a 720p TV display 480p without 'messing' with it.

I see. I guess what I am saying is that I'd rather not notice the "defects" in standard cable. I am thinking you are saying that a 720p set you show me the defects moreso than a regular TV.

Regular bale is not 640P it is just pal @ 640v480. You can run hd sets at a 4:3 ratio but will have to upscale the res to 480p minimum. With 4:3 selested(you will get black borders on the sides of image) and only upscaling to 480p you wopn't see the defects. Thats what I do when I am watching the toob on regular cable station.
