That is another thing. People watch the movie 8 Mile and think they know Detroit. 8 Mile is just a road. It is not a "hood" There was only one scene in the entire movie where they showed the actual 8 Mile Rd.

It is actually a nice neighborhood. More working class then anything. Generally mixed races. The only significance 8 Mile has is that it is the northern border between Detroit and the suburbs. Detroit is 80% black and some of the border suburbs are 90% white.

I know. People do the same thing after they watch "the wire". My friend said he wanted to be a cop here, then he saw that series and said he didnt. He was dead serious too. He also asked me to take him where the wire is. I dont get how people take shows so serious some times.
