Well I know you are a fair bit of a larger person than me (I am not small either) so your priorities are definitely going to be a bit different than many. I did find the width in the cabin of a G6 very acceptable for it's class. I could definitely see how you find it more comfortable for you.
Well I call myself fat and would consider you to be a bit overweight as well, but that isn't exactly what I meant by larger. You are just overall larger not just a bit overweight. It wasn't meant as a dig either.

The G6 replaced the Grand Am in Pontiacs lineup and is of the same size which is a little bigger and roomier than the sunfire/cavalier. The G5 is a sunfire replacement. I disagree with your assertion that the G6 is a cavalier. While it is still a budget minded vehicle, there is more cabin room than a cav and a feeling of "more car".
