Even if I do get laid off, I'll probably be making close to what I am now, and I'll have benefits which I currently do not have now. Hell I want to be laid off. Get paid the same, have benefits and don't have to go to work so then I can focus on school.You made this much while going to school?

GM still has to research and develop. They still have to design new cars to try to pull ahead of the other companies. That is why the Tech Center job is safer then the factory job. Unless they move all their R & D and all protoype development and testing overseas, the Tech Center is about as safe as any job in the big 3.Think tanks are no good without "tanks" of people.
