I know they had a 42" Vizio 1080p for like $1300. I kind of want a 37" to keep my cost down. The Blu Ray just does not look very appealing on my current TV.

Oh, I was thinking about going 720p with a 37" LCD. My current TV is suppose to support 720p, but doesn't look that great with Blu Ray.

The way I understand, is that 720p is better then 1080i because it is progressive vs. interlaced.

if your tv is 1080P (1920 x 1080) and you send it a 1080i signal, your tv will convert it to 1080P.

If you're going to make a huge investment into your TV, I would wait a year or two if you can. Prices should drop dramatically along with newer types of televisions that are better quality, smaller, and much cheaper.
