I'm not a fan of receivers at all, especially ones built in the last decade.
See I really don't know anything about this. It seems as though the noobpies stay in the car audio section, so maybe I'll explore the home section here.

It seems people talk as if home theater and home audio are different?

Yeah, stick with proven designs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Seriously, it's a ***** and a half. Most modeling programs fail badly. How much space do you have? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I don't have kleinhorn room, but I have the same space my lines are in right now. I was thinking of using a lowther.

It is. HT is for all around with more emphasis on having Movies blow your chest in.
HA is more of just a stereo listening room where dynamic response and SQ is more key not output.

To me, "home theater" implies a system that's set up for primarily movies - so multichannel amps and multiple speakers. "Home audio" usually implies two channels only.

Going balls-out first time out, are we? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
If you can afford one, I don't know of anything better in the single-driver world.
It is my way to try things in big ways. I can afford it and from what I have read, that is the way to go.

I will also end up tubing it as well. Problem is, I will have to move out current setup to put this in place and I know I won't be able to keep it there. If I really like it though I may just convert the garage into a listening room if it seems worth it.

People actually listen to music in houses?
I listen to more music in my apartment than not.

1) **** driving, I take the bus around town nowadays.

2) Lower noise floor.

3) Ability to have a perfectly centered stage with no processing required.

4) Higher efficiency speakers.

5) Changing an LP would **** while driving. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

All in all, not bad reasons //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
