Because I am not considered a serious investor by the investing community. As far as knowledge and skill, I can hold my own with most serious investors. I talked to a few people and they don't even examine financial statements, don't visit the stores, do really know exactly what the companies do.
But if I call and they ask me about my net worth, investment goals, etc. And I say I am interested in 1,000 shares, I am dismissed.

Indeed, I think it would make for an interesting conversation when you ask the $6 an hour operator why RF did not show a profit last quarter.

OTOH, I am spending a good amount of time analyzing Rockford Fosgate's financial statements...someone must be out and out stealing. I am curious how such a strong brand with OEM business makes no money. I am thinking they either will be delisted or bought out soon.
