Well she knows I don't have $500 to spend.

People know I don't have a lot to spend on gifts either but that doesn't mean I don't try. I haven't bought ANYTHING other than food and gas for myself this month. I've been to worried trying to gather what little extra money I do have to get gifts. I spent 130 today for 3 people.

well.....if someone spent 500 dollars on me that kind of wavers the "thought" because they obviously care enough about the person that money is no object and wish to see said person happy.

To return the favor by buying a 30 dollar gift card though, kind of a slap to the face. I'm not saying spend 500 dollars but you should buy a very nice, hearty, gift.

Well yea, that is pushing it.. but I mean I don't think "matching" what others pay for your gifts is the way to go about it.. I guess I feel that the thought of what you can get someone is better than the price tag..
