I just want to avoid spending Thanksgiving with my parents, but at the same time I want to watch the Lions so going to work will help me avoid the parents, but miss the Lions game.

you have a similar situation as me. I don't want to be anywhere near my cousin or his mom and dad. That's the real reason why I don't want to go. I probably won't make an appearance for Christmas this year either.
