i would do 2 way active. with dyna.
even 5.1 if you can find a good center to pair with some dyna speakers.

im leaning more towards the 5.1 for the time being... or at least 4.1 until i find a solution for a center channel.

5.1 in an automibile environment... is so useless/ghey...

Unless you have a rolling home theater... that is chauffered... and has a projector. Then maybe.

id usually agree with you jizm, and ive always been a promoter that rear fill is gay. but i got a deal on the alpine amp, and decided it was worth a shot, and with the new vehicle im not going for any award winning install, and im wanting to try something new. figured it might be worth a shot, if it doesnt work out i can sell what i gots and try something new.

my only real goals for the vehicle are something that is going to sound good (again, not sq comp good, but good enough to enjoy daily), loud enough to crank it up with the windows down, and appear mostly stock.

Not familair with the sub but couldn't you replace the dustcap? Or is it one of those "all in one" kind of deals the the ed 9vks?

I do not know if Diamond does recones but I'm wanting to lean towards thinking that they don't.

Plus - if I can go from an M6mkII [D6] (which listed for $330+tax when new) to a TDX (which listed for between $800-$900 when new) for no more than the cost of dealing with a cosmetically flawed but functionally perfect M6mkII then so be it, says I. Not really a tough decision I wouldn't think...

not having to fumble through cd's is great. although, i would MUCH rather have an integrated hard drive rather than the ipod interface...
