Can they? Yes, they certainly CAN... I did it for a while... but then when I got the proper tweeters in and took them down to 1.2kHz @24dB/oct I realized they really sounded like shit extending that high before.

Just pick up some of the XT25's... the small flanged ones off of madisound.... that's what I matched them up with and they extend low enough.

But yes, crossed @ 1.2kHz @24db/oct they sounded good and had great output.
