I was trying to do this a couple years ago and everything I read said that different screens use different drivers which are stored in the graphics card anyway. Everything essentially pointed to give up.

If that is not the case anymore, I'm really pissed I threw that screen away.

They're a little pricey, but what I need is called an LCD Controller. Depending on the type of LCD and what type of controller anywhere from $150-250...

Still not bad considering the price of a high resolution 15.4" LCD...

Actually, flipdowns have come down a lot in price... ~$250 or a generic 15.4" Widescreen LCD flipdown...

Which is what we used in most installs at the shop...

So, maybe not worth it...

More than I can afford pal... I guess I'll just spot you some $ in thanks for letting me use it... then look into something like the pioneer or toshiba upconverting players I've seen on woot lately. I know the OPPO is a better player... probably can't spend 3x the cost though.
