Good choice, but I would have gotten the turion... much better mobile processor... consumes less power. Oh, and a 15.4" too...

You battery life will more than likely blow... but other than that... good stuff.

I'm considering Linux... Since I'll probably take off Vista.
Ubuntu most likely. I wonder how bad beryl slows the system.

INdeed. UNIX based systems are great. If you're not gaming, then you shouldn't have too many problems with compatibility issues either...

I've decided to setup a dual boot just in case I need to run autoCAD or some other shit that I just don't want to have to mess with the compatibility.

It may be vista, but at least it'll get that job done. I'll be sticking with ubuntu 7.10, I don't want to take the leap into the FULL linux experience just yet.

Well that's why I would personally want to buy a laptop. If I buy a laptop it's because I want it to be portable not because I want to use it as a desktop.

Werd. Well I want an in between... portable and powerful...

I love my 15.4"... great compromise... and I ditched my desktop shortly after I got it.
