Crunch GP3000D-Pro...What amp alternator and what kind of extra batt

That alt will help out but a bigger one would be much better with the amount of current youll be drawing. If you do use that alt I would go with at least two hc2400 or equivalent in the back. You should also have the big three done in zero gauge and at least a negative and positive run of zero gauge to the back.

I think you should be ok with that but you might ahve to add more batteries if you plan on running the 145 amp alt.

 
Ok let me make sure i got this right .... Do I need a second run of 3/0 wire from the negative side

of the battery under the hood or can I just weld a bolt to the frame and ground it there ??

Im not saying that i will go with this alternator I would rather buy a bigger one than

have two batt's in the back

 
I ran mine off of stock 110A alternator and two batteries. The batts were powermaster, D3100 in the trunk (BEAST of a batt) and a D1200 in the front. Voltage dropped to 12.7 at full tilt with a/c on and 300w from a kicker amp to the components.

Also, only running a single pos 1/0 run from the front to the back. Batt is grounded to the trunk floor in the back, not to the front. Big 3 was also done.

 
Contact Dave at http://www.DCPowerinc.com , there is a phone number on the website. They can get you an alternator that will be sufficient and will do the amps that its rated at.
I called and talked to the DC power Tec guy and he told me that I would

have more than enough power if I went with a Powermaster-3400 under

the hood and upgraded to ther 275 amp alternator...I talked to him for

awhile and he said if I just put a new high output battery in under the hood

and one in the back by the amp would be a wast of money and the stock

alternator could not keep up and then the second batt would be just a

load on the system ...Everything he said made good since so I think that
