See, i just don't like the looks of it. I like that sport bike look. Sure it seems a bit stupid, but if I don't like the way something looks i'm sure as hell not gonna spend my hard earned money on it.In that case.....Rock on man, get out there and rideI've got friends around here that want to get into riding, and they just go about it all wrong. I'm sick of seeing people end up dead because they hop on something that they think is "only a 600" and having no respect for how much power is really there. Over 100hp in something that weighs under 500 lbs with you on it is going to ****ing move. Most people just don't understand that.

Probably going to get a used bike anyways. New, even in the $5000-6000 range, is just out of my price range. Maybe a gs500f? Or you can get full fairings for an sv you know. I just think the sv is one of the best starter bikes with how it handles, and how much power is there, especially for someone wanting something they won't outgrow in a couple months. But I do agree that they look kinda awkward without and fairings. But, remember, if it's your first bike, you're most likely going to lay it down at some point soon after getting it, and plastics are freaking salty to replace. Anyhow, just my .02.

why i don't want a bike...
saw this guy die in front of me not more than two months ago. someone got rear-ended in the turning lane and got pushed out into our lane. i was right behind him cruising at 55mph and he didn't have a second to even tap the brakes. hit the f150 full speed in the front right quarter panel launching him like 15ft in the air. that's my truck in the second pic, i had to slam on the brakes to keep from running over his bike. he was in the ditch 15 feet away...
it doesn't matter how good a driver you are on a bike, there are many many bad drivers out there that cause accidents. i'll take a boxed in steel frame, seat belt and air bag thanks!
