Crotch Rockets

A clean record and that many vehicles on the same policy, I'd guess you'd get a **** good deal.
State farm is notorious for giving great deals to people that have been with them for a long time and who insure multiple things with them. That's why I'm with them.

Thats what i'm hoping for.

Just talked with my mom and she wasn't really against the idea at all, which was a bit of a shocker to me. With gas prices the way they are I guess she understands.

So now I guess its just a matter of scoping out a few bikes and seeing what the insurance rates would be. We're gonna need a bigger garage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

She sees me on more of a cruiser bike, i'm more of a crotch rocket guy. I'm assuming insurance on the cruiser would be cheaper?

my mom won't even BUDGE on getting one. I want a gsxr 750 so f'n bad, especially to go to the beach so I dont get my car all sandy, nor have to look for parking. ****ING OLD PEOPLE:verymad:

Well.....Crotch rockets are going to be the most expensive.

Maybe find a ***** bike like an sv650 or something like that. Those are great bikes. All the fun of a crotch rocket without all the concern of ****ing up plastics.

Personally, I'd look for an old honda hawk gt for a starter bike. I just love the single sided swing arm, and they're just light fun bikes.

I assumed crotch rockets would be more expensive, but that's what I would rather have.

I wouldn't mind a halfway decent "starter" bike, something 500cc's or so, but I don't want a 250cc or some weak bike like that. I don't want a bike that I'll outgrow in a few months and want something bigger/more powerful.

My crotch rocket (buell xb9, 997cc) is cheaper than my cruiser (yamaha roadstar, 1700cc) , but its an oddball crotchrocket //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

How old are all of you?

My mom is the least of my concerns when I'm dealing with a bike.....

And adas.....If I were your mom, I wouldn't let you get one either:eek: Sounds like you'd end up in a box. Starting out on a gsxr (especially a 750) is bad news. Shit, my 600 still makes my *** hole pucker up, and I've been riding for 6 years now.

the cruiser also has a larger engine.

What about the msrp's of both? That may play a part in it....

My buddy just got a "new" 2007 (no miles) gsxr600. His insurance was $2200 a year for liability but his record sucks, he's 21, and it's in his name.

If this would be your first bike.....You really don't:rolleyes: I bet you'd roll around with your helmet dangling from your side helmet holder as well:rolleyes:
Anyways. I'm 22 and go through state farm. Full coverage for $74 a month (600cc k6 gsxr).

And if you're on a bike, for the love of God, get full coverage. What a stupid thing to do to just get liability.

Hahaha....deffinatly not my first bike.

Had a couple before this not to mention I raced motocross from the time I was about 6.

There is only a $6/month difference between the two bikes for me, guess it doesn't matter. The crotchrocket was about 75% of the msrp of the cruiser...both the same model year.

Shit a 600 rips....

I know a R6 does about 180-190 redlining.

You dont need that much speed....unless you want to be in a box.

In that case.....Rock on man, get out there and ride:cool: I've got friends around here that want to get into riding, and they just go about it all wrong. I'm sick of seeing people end up dead because they hop on something that they think is "only a 600" and having no respect for how much power is really there. Over 100hp in something that weighs under 500 lbs with you on it is going to ****ing move. Most people just don't understand that.

Tommy, serously check out a sv650. Go sit on one and tell me you don't get a big shit eating grin on your face. They're fun as hell to ride too.

Especially around town.....But then again, most peope that have bikes just putz around from coffee shop to coffee shop. I actually ride mine. Tripped down to kentucky and Virginia last summer and railed out in the country for a few weeks. Plan on doing it again this summer as well:cool:
