I am researching design of passive crossovers, and was wondering how credible articles on termpro.com are? What i am going to design and play with is a bandpass design for my dc65's which i do not have the crossover for.

anyone have suggestions on articles or have any in depth knowledge/ warnings for a first time build?

yes....i have a set of 4" arc's in the doors already, but am looking to put the 6.5" lanzars as well, and don't have the crossover for them.

i am thinking of running the dc65 as midbass and the arcs as mids

ok i understand now. Do you have amp power laying around? Honestly it would be cheaper to get a 3 way crossover. But if you really want do design a passive just do a SHIT TON of reading. They are not simple. Browse some projects on parts express, read all the testing, trial and error those guys go through designing a crossover for a speaker. Here are some articles, scroll down http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?Car_Audio=Car%20Audio%20Crossover%20Design

I meant it probably would be easier to use say a 4 channel for mids and highs, another 2 channel for the midbass woofers then a sub amp, use a 3 way crossover (I will be using a coustic XM6) to seperate you frequencies for tha amp channels, use a pair of channels of the 4 channel amp for the tweets, the other for the mids and the 2 channel for the midbass. Use the electronic crossover so you can adjust and fine tune the crossover frequencies. That way you aernt stuck with the frequency the passives are made to.

so you are saying technically active instead of passive......i would, but have not bought another amp yet.....this was going to be a temp thing to see what kind of sound i could produce, and a great learning experience for myself:D what i have now is my 2 channel ht400II which is rated 140x2 @ 2ohm and i was thinking to build a crossover and run the 4s and 6.5s from that amp.
