crimping vs. soldering

I usually just crimp. Under the hood, in the extreme environment, I soldered. Don't want anything coming loose under there.

yeah, ill crimp them, and then solder them, lol. Probably waay overkill, but eh.

im talking about 0 gauge or so, all the smaller things ill usually crimp

I usually just crimp soldering 1/0 takes too long and I don't feel like using a blow torch lol

Crimping. Vibrations are solder's worst enemy and the engine bay is no picnic....

it depends, if you use the solder you can get at home depot you are not doing any favors to your electrical system.

and crimping is a great connection if you do it right, but if your not good at it it will corrode and be just as bad as a ****** solder joint

I use a ratcheting crimper then I solder to prevent oxidation and enhance conductivity. then I heat shrink.
