Is there any reason to pick the 10k over the 12k amp? Price difference is insignificant. I have the space for either one. I will have the electrical to back up either. Either one I'll be running at 1/2 ohm.

Edit: nevermind. Ordered the 12k.

why didnt ya just get both? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif making a comment in jest because your question is out of my depth and experience level

It's normally out of my buying level...but it's time to get loud, so screw it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Probably. Definitely going to need a LOT more batteries.

May have to get rid of power steering to add a second alt. I'm sure as $hit not getting rid of ac for it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

is your civic a hatch?

I wish. It's a 4 door sedan. Walling it the end of this year, which is what this amp is for. If it were a hatch, I probably wouldn't wall it.

Currently the car will do 150.2 with the setup in my signature. I'm hoping for 55's with 4 12's in a 4th order wall on 12k watts.

lol. If I break a windshield, the first one will make me happy. Any after that and I will not be. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Received the amp today! I haven't been this geeked over audio gear in a long time! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Just picked up my second pair of 12's last week.

Can't wait to get this build started (and finished). Should get a good gain from all this. The down side is it's going to be ungodly expensive to get much of a gain after I do all this. Hopefully I'll get the numbers I'm looking for (55's), run it next season, then build a SUV and chase 60's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Wow beautiful amp man. It's so long. (wait, we're still talking about the amp I hope)

Having more than enough power is always a good thing.

37.5 inches. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I thought about doing a plexi bottom for it...but man I love how the top side looks.

Going to have to find some stiffer springs for the Civic once this build starts. Adding 6 group 31's in the trunk, plus this 65 pound amp, plus the weight of the wall and subs, etc....it's going to have the bumper dragging the ground.

Didn't have much luck finding springs previously. Hopefully I can get some custom made for it.

The plan is 4 DC XL 12's in a 4th order wall in the Civic in my signature.

Probably going to go with a Nendo amp for my mids and highs and double what I have in the doors now.

I'll probably end up using more group 34 Batts since I already have 2 in the trunk now, add 4 more, and add a couple cap banks. I'll see how my voltage holds up at that point, and either add a couple more batteries, or a second alt. Or possibly both.

The plan is to still daily drive the car. But that could change.

I'm a newb to competing. Nobody in the audio scene around here knew who I was prior to this season (February was my first show). So PRIOR to walling the car, the plan is to finish in the top 3 at finals (somewhat decent chance I'll take 1st). Get my name out there a little more with that. Then the wall build will be mostly a demo build, but I'll still compete at every show I attend...but won't care as much if I take 1st every time like I've been this season.

With all that said, there's a very slim chance I say F a wall, add two more 12's, and do a no wall in my Tahoe and shoot for 55's in that instead...still keeping it as a mostly demo build.
